Hi everyone!
We are sorry we have slowed down a little bit after the big event last weekend. We must say it was quite overwhelming and sucked energy out of us a bit. And of course, there was a lot of after-event paperwork stuff we had to take care of. The special exhibition at Cartoon Art Museum is starting next week for anyone to come and see this gorgeous artwork in person!
Please be patient about the book sales on line. We did indeed sell quite a lot during the event and will have to figure out the best way to distribute through internet. We obviously don’t have enough for everyone but hopefully enough to reach out to people who really want it. We have noticed some people selling the book for crazy amount on Ebay which is a bit sad considering we made the book to benefit the cause but not individuals. The book will be available by the end of the month for sure. please keep your eye on this blog!
Anyhow, while we are setting our system with PayPal for the book, check out this great interview of a legendary Disney animator Andreas Deja whose wire sculpture was one of the center pieces of the auction event last weekend! here is the podcast!

I really want the book
Yeah.. it’s sad to see the book in Ebay
Look forward to seeing it pop-out here! I’m still clicking the site every 15 mins…
All the best with everything!
Regards,
Charles
that wire sculpture floored me i person~ i couldn’t help going back to it looking up down side to side at every angle~
There’s something kind of hypocritical about flipping a book that was meant for charity/fundraising…it’s kind of disappointing to know that someone was present that night that didn’t have the spirit of the event in mind.
i will keep glued to this blog as several of my coworkers are very interested in getting a copy! I already covet mine~ good luck making arrangements and thanks for everything thus far!
I definitely want to be on the list for a book! Unfortunately I couldn’t attend the event but am very excited see the book. I’ve been checking the website every hour or so for updates…but I leave on vacation tonight for two weeks, and am concerned I’m going to miss it! Is there anything I can do?
Too bad about the ebay thing…maybe you could beat them to the punch and sell signed copies on ebay, or reproductions of the artwork.
I’ve been stalking for weeks to see when the book will come around. This was such a great project, I’m glad you guys were able to raise so much money!
Will you give us a heads up before the book-launch? I want to hang on the door handle for the release (even thoug, my place of residence being Sweden, it will probably be in an ungodly hour…)! ^^
Cheers,
Andreas
Thankfully it looks like there was only one guy trying to make a quick buck on eBay and no one actually bit. Looking forward to the official book sale!
I agree with Fawn – it’s sad to think that some people who were able to make it weren’t completely in the spirit of the fundraiser…
I do hope I can be one of the lucky ones to get a book off the site though, since I couldn’t make it to the event
I just love Andreas Deja! Thanks for the great post! –I’m also one of those tentatively waiting for the book sale.
Hope it’s soon! Thanks
i so hope there will be enough books for all of us
would be so sad not to get one…
a reprint would make everyone happy and kill the ebay selling frenzy
thanks for the information
Yes, it is sad to see on Ebay or resellers profit from the book as it was an event where artists who donated their artwork and the countless hours (blood, sweat and tears) of the volunteers who made this event happen. We need Tony Soprano to charge 40% interest (compound daily) and make these flippers donate to the cause. Of course, at gunpoint
I hope you release the book soon, but not this weekend because I’m away this weekend! LOL… I can’t wait to order it!
That sculpture is beautiful!
…I just hope I can be fast enough to buy one before they run out.
I wish I had had enough money to buy something from the auction and help with the funds raising. The book is going to sell like crazy I can feel it
