Artist File #15 ———Shinichiro Natsusaka

Posted on Sunday 24 August 2008

Shinichiro Natsusaka is a Paris based Japanese sculptor who was friends with one of our committee members Yukino Pang. The first time I was introduced to his work was his book, Samurai Planet. It was a sequential comic book style art all done with his sculptures!

He is a pretty successful artist in Paris having so many gallery shows under his belt. He was generous enough to donate his absolute work of beauty for Totoro Project. Wow..

Thank you Natsusaka-san!!!

“Totoro is not just a cute movie. It portrays Japanese animism that still lives Today. It is one of the films for anyone to understand what Japanese Anime is all about. It’d mean a lot to me if you could feel that from my own Totoro.” ———-Shinichiro Natsusaka
