Artist File #17 —-Francis Vallejo

Posted on Monday 25 August 2008

I accidentally came across Francis Vallejo’s website earlier this year. I was blown away by his draughtsmanship with such pop flavor. It didn’t take me long to email him to invite for the Totoro Forest Project.

What I didn’t know was that he was still a student at Ringling School of Design. His work holds up with any of the other veteran professionals on the roster!!

He did both line drawing and an oil painting both in 24″ x 18″ format. I don’t care what you say I’m going to bid on one of these!

“When Dice first contacted me about the Totoro Forest Project it was a dream come true to be associated with all the tremendous artists involved in the project. The very positive reactions towards the show have been a reminder how important our work as artists is to the worldwide community. I’ve been immensely inspired ever since the initial conversations!” ———Francis Vallejo
